I wonder why Breakthrough/BellBajao is so pro-Aamir Khan or pro-Satyamev Jayate. All that we see now on the posts is about this show. Is it that brilliant/pathbreaking that the organisation cannot get over it?

If seen carefully, the flaws are too huge to be overlooked by the simplistic idea of "celebrity endorsement". And that too Aamir Khan! The same ACTOR who kept on insisting that CocaCola and Pepsi are safe, even though scientific studies proved that they have high levels of pesticides! Even when the governmental bodies supported the study findings!

Taking such a safe stand on these issues cannot be overlooked. One issue - one episode - one magical solution - done!!! It's rather sad that Breakthrough is promoting this show all out!!!

Good development but also one that speaks the truth - imagine how many women would have been there if it were not for the quota. We need affirmative action for a long time to come.

There's a fine difference between being educated and being aware. In 21st century, India is probably getting educated and education in our times is about getting degrees to get jobs. Awareness about relationships is never taught in schools or either in families. Rather the topic is discarded as unimportant. Yet slowly, things are changing. The new age India is getting conscious about making choices. And choosing a life partner is the most critical one. The youth is taking time to get into and deal with relationships today. S/he is now feeling the need of self-respect which is a much needed awareness. Lets not only take the matrimonial ads into account as we can't afford to forget the rest of the relationships that are happening far away from this phenomenon. Moreover, the status quo is here to stay. The rich will definitely talk about the price tags. Fir matrimonial ad kya cheez hai!!

The data supplied in the article is highly subjective and actually sounds sensationalist at the best, one would find it tough to prove both the utility and veracity of such data, But I would like to submit, that of the numerous laws heavily biased towards women in India, most if not all have seen varying degrees of misuse (all by women in the name of empowerment). Though framed with so called noble intent, most of these laws seem draconian and designed to be open to abuse. In the quest for women empowerment why do men need to be ignored and belittled? Why is it that the suffering of men is less important than that of women? Such laws and their subsequent abuse and worst of all, absolute failure of the law making bodies to address them has already caused enough erosion of confidence in such laws. Justice must be completely blind, its not a number game. Injustice to anyone a man or a woman must be treated with equal seriousness. Concerns of men need to be addressed as well, lest they lose confidence in the system. A society cannot survive if that happens.

a film represents society ...chikni chameli only represents a marathi folk dancer at the best . She has no intention to promote negative things .. If you say that it may increase vulgarity etc (negative things) ,you should reform your society first . Now society is more indulgent towards negative things ... If society is reformed ,a film ,literature .etc can never represent it literature is the mirror of society ..so you should check & reform your society first thereafter think about other things ...art & literature take its, material from society &then they represent it skillfully .... They do their job only they have never a bad intention .... You are waisting your time on this .if you want to do something go in society & see what is there going on ...you must forget chkni chameli agnipath etc ............ .

This is so shocking and so sad. Being a devotee of Shri Krishna; I am appalled at this treatment of widows - who must have been somebody's daughter, sister, mother - right there in Vrindavan. Shri Krishna set high standards and examples of how women should be treated and yet such crime is being committed at his place of incarnation. I have this dream of setting a welfare home for widows @ Vrindavan because I have seen my grandmothers in the eyes of the old widows whom I meet whenever I go to Vrindavan. This blog makes me realise that I need to move ahead with more speed on this project. At least some will be benefitted.

Well I do understand whats been said here, but I really want to know that when women in the West started to demand their freedom why it was manifested among many things through wearing a Bikni? And for sure objectifying women in the videos is same as in the West as what we see here. Now the pertinent question here is "why this" rather asking "how did we reach here". I feel the answer to this lie within us somewhere. Is it because of the patriarchal society we all have evolved over the years ? If it is....this leads to something more scientific psychological rather being merely a societal question.

Everyword in the above article is very well chosen. Yes you rite in all your points and there is no answer to any of that except one pointing towards Ms Kaif. Even trash like this which you are thrashing is a form of creativity no matter how bad or good, but thats besides the point. Ms kaif agreeing to dress up like the way she has(i havent yet seen the video) is probably for only 2 reasons. Mr. Johar is a very persuasive man and its tough saying no to him for anyone in the industry and more importantly if Katrina Kaif is seen like that it re-confirms her status as the hottest 'thing' in bollywood which ultimately ensures she doesnt lose out the brands she represents which in turn only means more money. Yes its not a great reason but thats the truth. Dance number/Item numbers were famous in the 70's as well but now its taken a whole new turn which in most cases is turning ugly.

Its a great article.
way to go!
